The year of the dragon parade

On Saturday we went to the Chinese New Year's parade. It was downtown in the city and super crowed but we walked around quite a bit to see if we were missing anything. In made a snake-like route between different streets so unfortunately we saw most of the same part of the parade 2-3 times haha. We needed to actually get there early and sit to watch it beginning to end, but we had a nice walk around the city and saw parts of the parade. Here are a few pictures that I took and edited on instragram!

Plant killer

So my husband always says that I am a plant killer. The first night we bought a plant together was when we got married but it later maybe a few months in...died. According to him it was because I didn't water the plant...which probably is true. Once we moved, we decided it wasn't worth traveling with because it probably wouldn't make it. Once we moved into our 2nd apartment here I decided it needed to look a bit more homey. So, I bought 3 plants, one to hang in the kitchen (which still sets next to the sink since we haven't hung it yet), a little bamboo plant (which I thought was perfect cuz the lady said it is super hard to kill this plant!) and a bigger leafed plant for our living room. I continue to water it like the lady said. My husband didn't like where I put it so he put it outside. It started to wilt immediately because it is an indoor plant and it is winter! You can't put an indoor plant outside in the middle of winter! I moved it back inside and while we were gone in Mexico some of the leaves were super brown. My husband again went on to tell me how we shouldn't buy plants because i always kill them haha! But, I water them once a week exactly how the lady said so now the leaves are light green and spotted rather than dark green and they're starting to look brown on the edges. I clipped off the dried brown leaves so it doesn't look as bad now. Anyone have any suggestions on how to keep my plant alive???

Wynonna Judd and Ballroom Competition

So I am trying to update everything I have done recently...Here are a few pictures of what we have done...Weeks ago my husband's salsa team preformed at a benefit and Wynonna was one of the performers. She was really funny and puts on a great show!!! Next, last weekend we went to a Professional Ballroom dance Competition in San Jose. This was my first time to a ballroom competition, it was really fun to watch all the different dancers and made me really want to learn some of the different styles. It really encouraged me to want to take more classes and be a better dancer because it really looked so fun!

Dinner at El Mansour

For Antonio's dance team instructors birthday a bunch of us met up at this Moroccan restaurant in the city. It was such a neat place, the food was great, and there was entertainment who wasn't that bad of a dancer :) if you have ever seen the movie "Barefoot in the Park" with Jane Fonda and Robert Redford it for some reason reminded me when they go to that restaurant with that belly dancer and they eat crazy food. Anyways I think it was classier than that restaurant but I still felt like it was similar! The decor was really neat, there was like a huge sheet that hung that had a lamp that brought the middle up and there was little round chairs and benches around little tables that had all different designs. The servers pour warm water over a big basin over your hands because the meal had now utensils so we are with our hands. It was great! So here are a few pictures of the restaurant and of our dancer.

Tilden park!!!

Here are a few shots that I took with my phone of a park we went to a few weekends ago. It was so pretty and there were TONS of ducks in the lake. They were so fun to watch that we stayed for a bit just watching them swim around and get mad at each other haha! It is in Berkeley hills so getting up there is so beautiful, windy roads and has great views.
