Betcha never been in a fog storm like this before!!!

There it is!!!
Following our stroll down the main street of Sausalito we decided to checkout our future hiking spot at Marin headlands. I've planned that hiking trip about 3 times but for one reason or another it hasn't happened and since it was super close we thought we would check it out. As we made our way closer to the bridge the fog got thicker and once we got to the vista points we saw fog rolling in. It was super cold evening and we could rarely get a good view of the Golden Gate Bridge. I hear the views on the hiking trails are amazing, so we definitely are going to hike there someday soon...but we'll have to make sure it is a clear, warm day!!!
Where's the bridge?!?!?
Looking for the Golden Gate was like playing Where's Waldo?
A big gust of wind moved the fog for a few milliseconds and then it would be completely covered again :)
Fog rolling over the hills
Super wind and fog

Labor day weekend mini road trip!

We finally made it over to Sausalito! I had heard multiple times how cute it is there and had been dropping little hints to my hubby that we should drive up there and check it out. We may have picked a bad weekend to go when everyone was probably thinking the same as us. It was a holiday and it happened to be the art festival weekend so, needless to say the city was super busy with lot of tourists. Sausalito seems to be a charming little city with cute little houses, art galleries and boutiques.

Homemade deodorant

Yay! I made my own deodorant using The Passioate Homemaker's recipe! (http://www.passionatehomemaking.com/2008/03/update-homemade-deoderant.html) The first day I used it I was pretty impressed with it and have been using it since! I also like it because it doesn't really have a scent but you can put essential oils in, such as lavender oil. I ended up putting it in mini containers because I didn't empty any of my old deodorant dispensers and thought it may take a bit to clean the oily residue....maybe next time. As I understand it also washes off well with soap and warm water, so I'm hoping that means no more stains from deodorant residue?!?! It settled a little more stiff than it seemed when I was mixing so I ended up adding a bit more coconut oil a few days later. I was really excited once it was finished, my first step towards making my own natural home supplies. My next step is going to be homemade laundry detergent that my mom and sister make, they've inspired me :)

A beautiful ride!

This Sunday my husband and I rented bikes in the city and rode them down the embracadero, past all the piers, until we got to the Golden Gate bridge. We stopped a few times along the way to take a few pictures with my phone, which was much needed at times, there are some crazy hills! We need to buy a bike for my hubby so we can do this more often! We really enjoyed the ride and the views!!!

Three years and more to come!

My husband and I celebrated our 3 year anniversary this week! As I looked back on the 3 years that we've been together as a married couple I realized how blessed of a wife I really am! Each day I fall in love with him even more than the day before and I am so happy he is the one I get to spend the rest of my life with.

Berkeley Kite Festival 7/28

My husband and I had a great time at the Kite Festival last weekend! We bought a kite and he put it together. It had a rough start to get enough height but it soon reached where everyone else was. Some friends from church joined us in the afternoon for a picnic and had a great time talking to them!
