My husband and I had a great time at the Kite Festival last weekend! We bought a kite and he put it together. It had a rough start to get enough height but it soon reached where everyone else was. Some friends from church joined us in the afternoon for a picnic and had a great time talking to them!
I am a small town girl from the midwest who has moved to the Bay Area. It has been quite an adjustment but, it is all worth being able to be on this adventure with my AMAZING husband. I am not a great writer but, I started this blog to be able to keep family and friends in the loop of my family highlights and adventures.

My niece turns 4 and a few of my NEW niece!
My niece turned four actually the day after I left but I was happy when they said they were going to celebrate it a bit early so I could celebrate with them. Before her party I went and hung out at my sister's house and instead of helping I carried around her baby and took pictures of her beautiful kids haha!
Hanging with my nieces! Love that Moby Wrap and I think she loved it too! Had to pop her little head out so you would actually see her in the photo!
Birthday girl all ready for her party!
My new niece almost 2 months old
All together my nieces and nephew showing their baby sister some love!
Having fun opening gifts and loving all the tissue paper!
My sister planned a few games and I think it was such a good idea for the kids to have something to do! They all had fun, even the older kids!
Miss C is 11!
As most of you who are reading this know that I was home for 10 days, so for you it is just news to see the pics finally! I had a great time seeing and spending time with my family. My older sister had her baby in April so I was super excited to meet my new niece for the first time. I think I may have become a baby hog for the week hehe!!! Another special celebration was my grandparent's 60th wedding anniversary party. There I was able to see family who I haven't seen since I was married almost three years ago or before! If those two special events weren't enough to satisfy me as an added bonus my sister and I made a meal for my parents to celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary, one of my sisters turned 11, and my niece turned 4...so needless to say I ate a lot of cake and ice cream. Since I am so far from home I miss the little experiences I miss so I enjoyed being able to see my sister perform at her "Fiddle Camp" concert. She learned the basics of the violin and learned a few songs. It was bittersweet to come home because unfortunately my husband wasn't able to go with me due to his newish job and I wanted to stay because as you all can imagine I miss home and my family.
So I do not want to make this a big photo album but there are so many so I will try to separate them off. I would do them gradually but now that I am working overtime I do not have a lot of extra time :s.
To begin, we will start with my sister's birthday the big 11! because that is what happened first :) and by the way I made the giraffe cake (her favorite animal :) ) and to finish off this post is her Fiddle Concert!

Memorial Day: Picnic In The Park
My husband was on his way back from LA Congress (Salsa Competition) on Memorial Day...his flight was delayed for 2 hours so that cut into my plans of eating out on a picnic/hiking adventure at Marin Headlands. So hopefully some weekend soon we will make it over there, it looks beautiful! Anyways, so I picked him up from the airport and we decided to just find a park to eat a late lunch since I had already packed a picnic for hiking anyways. It was probably a good idea that we did not go on a hike because he was pretty tired from such a long weekend and was asleep soon after our late lunch. We decided to check out Cesar Chavez Park where people go to fly their kites. It was pretty windy (which is why it is a great place for kite flying) but we found a place on a side of a hill that had no wind. I decided next time we go to that park we will have to buy and bring an awesome kite to fly and that we'll have to go to the kite flying festival in July! Here are a few shots that I took with Instagram and my iPhone as my exhasted husband was taking his mini-nap on our picnic spot. Unfortunately, my iphone can't capture all the little kites in the sky but you get the picture...

This was an older man on a skate board, it looked like hard work to control it and it was super windy...I was impressed by his age and his skill that he was exercising in this way!

My cherry picking adventures!
Today I went to pick cherries and boysenberries at Pease Cherry Farm. I have never picked cherries before...or boysenberries. It really makes you appreciate all of the workers and farmers who put in hard work to bring us all those berries from those prickly plants! I had a great time and scored 2 lbs of cherries and 2 lbs of boysenberries. A friend and I thought we had about 4 lbs between the both of us but once it was weighed we had 7.5 lbs! Glad we stopped when we did or we would have had to walk away with over 7.5 lbs of cherries!!!
